My Mah Jongg Adventure
Day 7
(Please note Leah is currently at sea but is sending her blogs in order to share the experience. – frs)
It was another beautiful day in Charleston. I tried to make the most of it.
I took a run along the coast, the wall that surrounds the historic district. It was a great route, there are several parks, you’re along the water and you can see many of the historic homes. In the afternoon, I relaxed by the pool. I went swimming in their salt water pool. I also checked out The World’s full size tennis court. It was beautiful. From what I understand, this may be the only full size court at sea. If I am ever invited back, I will definitely play.
As we prepared to leave Charleston, The Plantation Singers, a local a Capella and percussion group entertained us. It was a very moving experience.
Whether at sea or home, I am still involved with Mahjonggmentor.com. I spoke with a member in the Phoenix area. He is a relative beginner and had some questions on the site. We discussed how to utilize the Exercise and Homework section better and how to use the entire card when playing. Just because you are newer player don’t get scared off by concealed hands or those with higher point values. Play the section and hands with the tiles you are dealt. Mostly play with confidence, sometimes it should be about the process of playing not necessarily about winning or not.
Looking forward to my students tomorrow.
