Yoga Jongg Day 4

Posted by:

Today was our last lesson.  We covered the wide topic of Defense.

When to call or not, safe discards and calling a hand dead.

And probably most important, how to determine a joker’s viability

After a hand is declared dead.

We also had several scenarios discussing table rules and how to get

Up to speed on the approaching “new card”.

This evening, our last night, we(my ...

Yoga Jongg Day 3

Posted by:

Today we were not so lucky with the weather.

The morning was lovely, the afternoon some decent rain showers.

That meant more time for Mah Jongg.  Most people began playing

An hour or so before the lesson.  I was also glad to see that most of the guests

Are mixing well and sharing this experience together.

Todays lesson was on The Play.  I was able ...

Yoga Jongg Day 2

Posted by:

Today we docked in Key West, Florida.

Quaint town. I decided to get off the boat and walk around a bit.

Many shops have VERY similar merchandize.  Seen one T-shirt, you’ve seen

Them all.

Today was the first Mah Jongg strategy session.  We had over 20 in attendance.

The topic was to be on The Charleston, but of course, many other questions were brought to ...

After boarding, before the ship even leaves port (those of you familiar with cruising) we had a lifeboat drill.  Every passenger must report to their muster stations.  Being as our group of cabins are together,

I ...

Almost time for YogaJongg

Last time I taught at sea, I provided an ongoing blog sharing my experiences.  It was met with such positive feedback, I thought I would do it again….

I arrived in Fort Lauderdale today.  Tomorrow, we will shuttle to Port of Miami and leave on The Norwegian Sun for our YogaJongg

Adventure.  Upon getting ready to leave the hotel to attend The Arts Festival on Las Olas today, my husband, ...

Mah Jongg and Today’s Youth

Posted by:

As I observe the Mah Jongg clubs around the country, it is interesting to see that the youth of today on college campuses are playing Riichi (non-American) Mah Jongg.  Just like most of us, they have standing weekly games and have become fast and furious friends with their new playmates after meeting over this great game!

It is ...

One of Leah’s 2017 Card Review Classes

It continues to amaze me the power of the internet and how it brings mah jongg people together.  You have Facebook groups, mah jongg games on line, and of course, the all powerful on-line educational or teaching resources, such as MahJonggMentor.  Through the technology of today, we have members all over the world, which still continues to boggle my mind.  People ...
